COMMENT
Prince for dummies. I believe the idea behind this release was to school the Prince fans who constantly post the "Is he gay?", "How tall is he?", "Can he suck himself off?" questions on the various Prince message boards. I can't see it achieving that effect, however this is a great collection culled from various TV broadcasts from the Solid Gold 1983 performance of 'Little Red Corvette' up to promo's for the 2004 Musicology Tour. With it's tongue firmly in it's cheek this shouldn't be taken too seriously, and is a lot of fun. From Prince wrestling to the death with Prince Charles to Jamie Foxx's extremely funny sketch there are some fantastic oddities included on here. Some are very brief, while others like the 'VH-1 TimeLine' are lengthy and a nice re-cap of his career (although TimeLine disturbingly omits the years 1987 - 1988 when he was at his creative peak). The footage is of consistently high quality, and the menu's (as with the previous 'Reflection Volume 1') are stunning and amongst the best I have seen. At nearly 2 hours in length there's surely something for all the dummies out there. Oh, and the Che Guevara likeness that greets you to begin with is genius. OBEY.
