Before Sinéad O'Connor made it a global phenomenon, Nothing Compares 2 U was quietly sitting on this album — written and produced by Prince, performed by The Family, and heard by relatively few people at the time. The Family's 1985 self-titled debut is one of the most overlooked gems in the entire Paisley Park catalogue, and with the original pressing now extremely rare and completely out of print, this CD-R edition with original artwork is one of the very few ways to own it today.

Eight tracks written and produced by Prince at the height of his creative powers — High Fashion, Mutiny, The Screams of Passion, River Run Dry, and more. Sophisticated, sensual, and utterly unlike anything else released in 1985. A record that deserved far more attention than it received and has only grown in reputation among collectors in the decades since.
