Preposition is a four-disc collector boxset from SaTim Records bringing together one of the most significant pieces of Prince archive material in any single release — both unreleased versions of Madhouse 24, recorded in 1988 and 1994 but never officially issued, alongside an extensive collection of studio outtakes spanning multiple Prince and Paisley Park eras.
Why This Boxset Is Essential
The two unreleased Madhouse 24 albums are the headline content. Disc One presents the complete 1988 version of Madhouse 24 — tracks 17 through 24 in the Madhouse numbered series, with titles including Penetration, R U Legal Yet?, A Girl & Her Puppy, Jailbait, and The Dopamine Rush. Disc Two delivers the complete 1994 version of Madhouse 24 — a different recording entirely, opening with Rootie Kazootie and running through Space, Asswoop, Parlor Games, and Got 2 Give It Up. Two separate finished albums by the same Prince-led project that never officially saw release. For Madhouse fans, this is unmatched material.
The remaining discs are equally substantial. Disc One also includes The Line, My Pony, The P, God Is Alive, and Heaven Is Keeping Score. Disc Two adds The Sex Of It, Glam Slam '91, Soul Psychodelicide, and a rare acoustic version of Kiss.
