Ta Mara and the Seen was the debut album by Minneapolis R&B/funk group Ta Mara and the Seen, released on September 25, 1985 on A&M Records. The album was produced by Jesse Johnson and became part of the classic “Minneapolis sound” era associated with artists like Prince, Sheila E. and The Time.
The album’s biggest hit was “Everybody Dance,” which reached No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the R&B chart. Other notable tracks included “Affection,” “Summertime Love,” and “Long Cold Nights.”
