John Lennon – The Alternate Double Fantasy (2CD Collector’s Edition)
An extraordinary alternate journey through one of John Lennon’s most emotional and historic final recording projects. The Alternate Double Fantasy presents rare studio session recordings, alternate takes, rough mixes, rehearsals, and work-in-progress versions from the legendary 1980 Double Fantasy sessions.
Featuring stripped-back and alternate performances of classics including “(Just Like) Starting Over,” “Woman,” “Watching The Wheels,” “Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy),” and “I’m Losing You,” this rare archival release offers an intimate glimpse into Lennon’s creative rebirth during his final studio recordings with Yoko Ono.
Recorded during Lennon’s celebrated comeback period after five years away from the music industry, these sessions capture the warmth, honesty, experimentation, and raw studio atmosphere behind the making of Double Fantasy — the final album released during Lennon’s lifetime.
